New Year Shows

Posted by colleen brook on January 5, 2013 at 5:30 AM Comments comments (0)

Cooma Shojumping had huge entries ith numbers like 150 in 1.20 and similar in the 1.10ms.

The 4 days of jumping are great, but I have heard some grumblings regarding the ground ,it is tough when the organisers are dealing with agricultural showgrounds, as it is hard to please every user.

Milly and Belinda were showing the flag for us with some good results and some others they would say, experience.

Still every round counts towards  learning how to be better next time.&#...

Happy New Year. 2013

Posted by colleen brook on December 28, 2012 at 5:15 AM Comments comments (0)

I hope our New Year is reasonably dry, not like last year. Our local agricultural shows had a hard time as it was so wet everywhere and we missed out on a few because of the wet.

We have one jumping show only in January and the rest ag shows. We need to brace ourselves for the sideshow noise level etc.

Luckily the ground surfaces are all pretty good along the coast with some very pretty showgrounds. Small warm up areas are a limiting factor along with a small amount of time to get...

London Olympics

With just the dressage freestyle to go yet another olympics throws up some surprises.

To think the major jumping nation in the world Germany and the highest number of Gold medal winners in equestrian history didn't get a medal in the showjumping! The French suffered the same result, amazing.

For Australia to get two riders into the individual final is wonderful and our third rider James Patterson Robinson just missed out, pretty good effort. Our team score this time ,was good enough...

Polo Show Grand National challenge.

The show on the Polo fields at Richmond was absolutely beautiful.

4 rings with very smart tents looked like were could have been anywhere in the world. The star this weekend was Milly with Greenbah. She only just qualified  and came out in the final to jump double clear to be 2nd! Liz had the first fence down in the final and just missed the cut, shame as Balckie has been eating up the courses lately and jumped well Saturday.. In the bronze Final Harry with Val jumped well but two l...

Jumping in the Hawkesbury.

Posted by colleen brook on August 28, 2012 at 11:20 PM Comments comments (0)

Jumping in the Hawkesbruy was a busy weekend. Liz won a Young Rider and 2nd in another with 'Blackie'.

Liz also won another class with Music, so good weekend for her. Milly was 6th and 7th in one YR and rode very well in the other.

Harry hasn't had much tack time lately with uni and a job. He felt like he needed more riding.

The days started early and finished late, no shortage of competitors. The ground is dry and dusty now, the back end of winter without any feed makes the...
